Manor Park Primary School

SOARING TO SUCCESS

The students of Manor Park know a thing or two about success. They are a school of modest winners, of humble triumphants and secret superstars. They never forget to use their manners, they are always quiet in class and they complete all of their homework on time. They are getting ready to positively change the world.

Success is a very difficult thing to measure, but if there’s one thing we know for sure, you will never achieve it unless you soar towards it. Introducing Manor Park’s Gallery of Us where you will see the artworks of students who are unashamedly soaring.

As you explore this gallery you will find students celebrating who they happen to be, showcasing their talents and presenting the version of themselves that they want you to see.

We hope as you walk around this art gallery you are inspired to soar towards your own versions of success in a similar way to the bold, brave, and very polite, students of Manor Park.

Hello everyone,

We, Manor Park are super excited to show you our artwork across the years. We as a school love our art lessons as it’s a creative way to tell our stories. We are encouraged to be as creative as we want, and it helps us understand ourselves and the world around us. From using mixed media materials in nursery where you will see we have created our own unique jewellery range out of dried pasta and bottle tops to our oldest children in year 6 exploring crepe paper to make 3D flower models. We hope you enjoy looking at our work, we sure did enjoy creating it for you!

Welcome to the Gallery of Us.

MANOR PARK

The Gallery of Us - by Manor Park Primary School

  • Don't you Know that Evryone

Text presented on decoratively bordered paper and yellow card.

This artist, known simply as ‘Annabel in primary school’, has created a provocative and compelling art work using the medium of words on paper.

Thought to be Coventry’s very own Banksy, ‘Annabel in primary school’s’ true identity is known to very few, but the messages behind her artworks touch many.

For too long have we championed schools for their commitment to learning, for too long have we valued a school on their grades, for far too long has it been about maths, english and science.

‘Annabel in primary school’ calls us all to re-evaluate.

School is fun, don't you know that evryone?

  • WINNERS.

A collection of awards and self portraits won by/made by reception.

We don’t like to brag, but Reception at Manor Park are incredible!

    There… We said it!

Reception are a year of WINNERS. No matter how you challenge them - dancng, swimmng, sportsday or mime, reception at Manor Park WIN!!!!!!!!!!!

And as if that wasn’t enough for you, as if you weren’t amazed enough - these wins are accompanied by self portraits, because. Well, just because. Who doesn’t love a good self portrait??!

    Take it all in.

We really hope you enjoy. x

  • A Byootuful Pickcher of us

A collection of Manor Parks favourite books next to why.

There is so much that we can learn from books. We learn our words from dictionaries, we learn more intellectual words for them words from the thesaurus, and we absorb a conception for said appellations via our encyclopaedias.

But, perhaps most importantly, through books we can grasp a byootuful pickcher of us. We can get a sense of the magnifasent world we live in and how funy, luvely lovely and king kind people can be.

Give the world around you a little bit of space, bicus even if we don’t start off this way at first, if you give ‘us’ a small chunk of time and contecst we might just becum the bestest of best frends.

  • Pasta. Is. IN.

Hand crafted jewellery made from pasta, beads and multifix cubes

If you find yourself a little bit pici when it comes to jewellery, if you’re a person who really needs to make a fusilli out of your partner, then holy macaroni… you better not let this display pasta you by.

The students of Manor Park’s Nursery have been working hard on #Fashion. We cannelloni assume it will take Paris Fashion Week by storm next year, and yes, it is guaranteed to cost a fair penne or two when it finally hits the market.

But if pasta isn’t quite ‘you’, luckily Manor Park’s Nursery (or Pépinière Manor Park, as we say in Paris) have developed a side range made of beads and/or multifix cubes. They really have thought of everything.

Sadly and disappointingly for our team, the last two did not offer up many puns. We really did search farfalle and wide.

  • This Bouquet of Beauty

A bouquet of flowers handcrafted by year 6 students

Flowers start as a seed that then grow into a shoot, a stem, and leaves, until eventually they bloom into a fantastically beautiful flower that astounds the world around them. The students of Manor Park’s Year 6 are no exception to this trend and are already fantastically beautiful flowers in their own rights. But, just in case you needed proof… here.

Artistically handcrafted by each year 6 student, this bouquet of beauty is made from individual flowers hand carved by the students in their final year of Manor Park school education.

As they step towards their next step in life, to contribute to this grand bouquet we call ‘mother earth’, let's admire the individual flower for their unique contributions to that grand bouquet. They are all inspiringly original, they are all bright, bold and colourful, and every single one of them is a true feat of beauty.

  • Feast on THIS!

An assortment of tasty treats made out of not so tasty plasticine

Content Warning: none of this food is edible. Please DO NOT try to eat.

As realistic as these may look, they are in fact just replicas of the real thing created by the talented artists of Manor Park’s Year 1. Inspired by their favourite foods these talented individuals have whet the appetite of all who visit the Gallery of Us whilst simultaneously tantalising the taste buds of art critics across the globe.

This display is all part of the students artistic development which will culminate in them possibly maybe collaboratively forming a wax work model of King Charles to be showcased at Madamme Tussauds in approx 2033 to mark ten years on the throne [yet TBC]. Buy your tickets NOW to avoid disappointment.

Reminder: NONE of this is edible.

  • Put a Bookmark in this Chapter of ME!

    Handcrafted bookmarks

Sometimes it’s hard to put a finger on your absolute favourite thing about you. So why not put a bookmark on it? That is exactly what Year 4 have done and along the way they have found out that:

We are kind. We are colourful. We are our rabbits, cats and dogs. We are hopping to our dreams. We are as good as a jedi, and we like unicorns. We are GOAL. We love making tie die shirts. We are sweet people. We are the beginning, the middle AND the end of our books. We are ALL of this and so much more.

We are ART in all of its glory.

Enjoy this unique, wonderful Chapter of Us! created by the artistes of Year 4.

  • The Strength in Talking

    Watercolour masterpieces capturing our strengths.

Often, we judge how ‘strong’ somebody is by how many kilos they can deadlift at the gym. Year 3 of Manor Park offers an alternative perspective.

Strength can be painting. Strength can be swimming. Strength can be just… talking. And talking is a strength we all could benefit from right now.

So tonight, just in case you needed any further encouragement, give yourself an evening off at the gym. Why? Because Poppy, Elora, Amy, Anaya, Ahnavi, Sophie, Lily, Gaatha, Ayyub, Stas, Aadam, Adway and The Museum of Me team think you’re strong enough already.

Babe, the beach bod really will wait till next year.

    Trust us… we’re a museum!

A museum floor plan made out of, for, and by the students of Year 5

Have you ever wondered what might feature in a Museum of YOU? What stories your museum might tell? What journeys might it take attendees on? How might your ‘ordinary’ old life inspire those around you to think a little bit differently about who ‘ordinary’ old them happens to be?

Well, we challenged the Year 5 students to do just that, and the findings were ‘extraordinary’. It turns out that they were nowhere near as boring as their ‘ordinary’ old parents told us they were.

This is the floor plan of the Museum of Manor Park’s Year 5 [pending significant funding, and a museum facility big enough to hold it all].
