Sky Blues
THE SKY IS ALWAYS BLUE
Whether visible or not, behind the clouds, there is always, always a bright blue sky. If you wait patiently enough and look up, the clouds will eventually part to reveal a sky full of hope, opportunity, and never ending potential.
A football team that knows a thing or two about dark clouds and blue skies is the mighty Coventry City Football Club, aka The Sky Blues. As they embark on this final leg of their quest for promotion after a stormy period, let us use today as an opportunity to say: “we love you city, we do”.
Coventry doesn’t often boast about how proud it is of itself, we just get on with it. However, win or lose today it is important to remember how far we have come and dream up how much further we have yet to go. The sky is a limitless realm that we are yet to explore together.
So today cheer loudly, sing proudly and passionately, and remember to continuously look up. If one thing remains as true as Coventry Blue, whether you happen to be a footie fan or not: we love you city, we do.

Museum of Me was a concept dreamt up by a predominately Coventry based team of creatives.
Today was initially planned to be The Museum of Danny Ward. However, Danny Ward is a BIG Sky Blues fan, who just happens to be on his way/at/was at Wembley today to watch the big game (depending on what time you are here). Because of this we have realigned Danny Day to take place on Monday. Join a fellow CCFC fan then to hear his story and learn why he has stuck with the team through thick or thin. His opening ceremony will be at 10.15am on Monday 29th May.
A potted history of Coventry’s Long Term Relationship with the colour blue:
Coventry Blue - a dye used in the city’s medieval weaving trade. This shade of blue, also known as ‘true blue’ was unique to Coventry and said to not lose its colour after multiple washes.
Sky Blue - Sky blue as a term was first used by Coventry City Football Club in 1898.
Sky Blue Sam - joined the team in 1969. Has been loved by the fans ever since.
True Blue - a song by Madonna that would possibly have been called Orange Blancmange had it not been for Coventry’s interception. You can thank us later Madonna.
Sky Blue Tavern - A great pub just outside the city centre celebrating the team in all their glory.
We wish the mighty Sky Blues the greatest of luck today.
