Extraordinary Us

Producers / Project Managers

Founded in 2022, Extraordinary Us is a Coventry-based creative production company on a mission to “find the extra in ordinary.”

Extraordinary Us believes that everyone has a story worth telling - so they collaborate with real people and communities to transform everyday lives into powerful, meaningful narratives through participatory arts, storytelling and curated projects.

Through initiatives like Museum of Me and other bespoke community-driven projects, they shine a spotlight on voices too often overlooked - celebrating the unique value in each individual’s lived experience.

Driven by empathy, authenticity and inclusive ambition, Extraordinary Us aims to build bridges between people, places and cultures whilst turning ordinary moments into extraordinary stories that resonate deeply and last beyond the project cycle.

Extraordinary Us is set out to elevate the ordinary.

Paul O’Donnell

Concept Creator / Creative Director

Paul is an artist who aims to expose the ‘ordinary’ in a ‘spectacular’ fashion.

He usually works in theatre, but has become excited by ideas that excite him in other forms too. Museum of Me is his first concept creating work in the public realm and it aims to find a unique, hugely positive and wholeheartedly joyous way of celebrating those who often go un-celebrated.

More than anything Paul has loved meeting people he would never have met had it not been for the project, and he hope that you enjoy ‘meeting’ them too, via museum. As much as Paul is able to he wants to use the ‘art’ he creates to challenge how we view ourselves and those around us, whilst offering inventive opportunities for people to come together.

Kirsten Tranter

Producers [Extraordinary Us / Freelancer]

Kirsten Tranter is a creative producer with over two decades of experience bringing people together through arts, movement and community-led practice. With a background in dance and arts management, she has built a career connecting artists, organisations and communities to create meaningful, inclusive cultural experiences.

A natural collaborator and “people-first” producer, Kirsten specialises in working with communities who are often underrepresented or disengaged from the arts—championing access, participation and the transformative power of creativity. Her work spans large-scale cultural programmes, youth development, and innovative performance projects, including contributions to major initiatives such as the Commonwealth Games 2022 cultural programme.

Alongside her producing work, Kirsten is also a qualified health coach, bringing a holistic, human-centred approach to everything she does—supporting individuals and teams to thrive, feel empowered, and realise their potential.

At her core, Kirsten is driven by a simple belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard, and celebrated through creativity.

Vortex Creates

Designers and Curators

Led by friends and business partners Nicola Richardson and Marianne Taviner, Vortex Creates is a Coventry based organisation who for nearly 15 years have specialised in transforming spaces and igniting the imagination of audiences.

Understanding the nuances of environment and storytelling, our work engages diverse audiences to have inspiring cultural happenings as part of their daily life by creating shared experiences that build communities and promote good mental health. We often collaborate with other artists to turn ideas into spectacular, unforgettable realities.

We have loved taking stories and personal objects and infusing them with Vortex joy and sparkle to showcase something truly special in the Museum of Me.
