Solihull: The Creative Team

ESSENTIALLY, CREATIVE.

Every invention, every intervention, every chaotic concoction or humane disruption is essentially... creative.

Each moment that brings you joy, or empathy, or enthusiasm is something that has been formed. Every show you watch, or feeling that you feel is, in its own special way, human creativity.

Today's museum is a reminder that all of us are Essentially, Creative. And that occasionally... people make a career out of it too.

Creativity is a glorious beast that never quite feels ‘essential’, but somehow it essentially finds its way to truly, authentically, connect people in the most inventive of ways.

Take our local creative team as just an example: Skylar is driven by empowering community, Amerah is driven by human activism, Rory will wield his camera to capture a beautiful moment or indeed person, Fiona will encourage you to find your own potential and Kelly will equip your curiosity. Together The Creative Team is a formidable force of constructive positivity. Afterall; We’re better together.

The West Midlands has thrived on humane and creative intervention for... well, ever... and the Solihull of right now is no exception.

Meet the local artists who have brought Solihull’s Museum of Me to life.

This is: The Creative Team.

THE CREATIVE TEAM

Hello and welcome to day one of The Museum of Me, I really hope you enjoy what we have created.

Over the next two weeks, you are going to meet 9 residents who call Solihull Metropolitan Borough their “home”. They are ‘ordinary’ individuals who, in their own unique ways, contribute to the rich vibrant fabric of this borough. Behind them lies a small army of ‘artsy fartsy’ people who might otherwise go unseen, we call them ‘The Creative Team’. They’ve been working tirelessly, within their own set of skills, to elevate the ordinary in the most extra-ordinary of ways: by making a museum with, for, and about them.

Thank you to Solihull’s Creative Team: Amerah, Fiona, Kelly, Skylar, Rory, Lisa, the production team and design teams as well as our partners and supporters who have collectively brought this project to life. Your invisible artistry does not go unnoticed in what we have collectively created: Solihull - We’re Better Together.
